End of the Year Wrap-up.

This has been another incredible year for Panther Creek!  We took our first trip to BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis, IN.

The very next day our Jazz Ensemble performed at the NC Music Educators Conference in Winston Salem, NC.

We had 17 students make the Central District All-District Band.  Two students made All-State Band.  Three students make the All-Regional Jazz Band.  Two students that made the All-State Jazz Band.

Our Jazz Band won Outstanding Jazz Band at the UNC Chapel Hill, Jazz Festival.

We took three bands to State Festival (MPA) in grades IV, V, and VI/Master Works.  Our top two ensembles recieved straight superiors and our Concert Band recieved a II+.

Our Jazz Ensemble also attended MPA and recieved straight superiors.

Our Indoor Color Guard and Drum Line both had Outstanding seasons.  Our Drum Line was undefeated all season and finished 2 place AIA Championships.

We performed for our Spring Musical "Annie Get Your Gun".  We were the "cowboy Band" on stage.
We took 100 students and chaperones to a three day trip NY City.  Had a great time.  We saw "Newsies", Blue Man Group, and tons of sites.

Our Jazz Band helped raise over $3,000 for COTA in a four school Jazz Concert at the Koka Booth Ampitheatre.

I am proud of all that we have accomplished this year and I'm looking forward to another great year at PC 2013-14!

Start Drinking Water!!!

Hydration should be a 24 hour process for an
athlete.

Prevention:
• Drink 17-20 ounces of water 2-3 hours
before exercise
• Drink an additional 7-10 ounces of
water 10-20 minutes before exercise
Water should be consumed before and after
exercise. Sports drinks, like Gatorade, should
be consumed during exercise to replenish
electrolytes.

Fluid Replacement:
• Drink enough fluids to replace any
weight loss within two hours of
completion of activity
• Fluid replacement should be at a rate
of 24 ounces for every pound of body
weight lost after exercise.

Urine color is an easy method to determine
hydration status. Light yellow to clear urine
indicates a well-hydrated athlete. Yellow, dark,
or brownish urine indicates dehydration.

Back from the Beach

Were are back from the beach. Had a great time. Now I am turning my attention to the show and planning on making this the best season we have had.

We have posted the music for the 3rd movement. This will be the most technically difficult music in our show. Begin practicing it slowly and work towards memorization. I hope to have the opener online sometime next week.

I would like to have a squad/section/captain leader meeting on Monday 7/25, 9:00am to set-up the band room and field.

If you have not reserved your DCI tickets please do so asap. I set this trip up first and foremost for the new students (rookies). The social interaction and connections are a big part of what we do.

Keep in touch with the website and weekly band booster updates. 30 days and counting!
